Terms of Service

Last updated:

Welcome to ChrononLabs. By using our anti-cheat protection system, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ChrononLabs' services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.

2. Use License

ChrononLabs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our anti-cheat protection system for supported games, currently Garry's Mod, with additional titles in development.

3. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with ChrononLabs' anti-cheat system
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our software
  • Use our services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any game's terms of service
  • Distribute, sell, or lease any part of our services

4. Data Protection and Player Notice

Customer game servers relay identifiers, connection information, gameplay events, and input telemetry to ChrononLabs-controlled infrastructure. ChrononLabs stores and analyzes the relayed data and creates derived analytics, detection evidence, and enforcement records as described in our Privacy Policy.

Raw gameplay telemetry and detailed replay source data stored as detection objects may be retained for no more than 12 months from collection. New detection objects are stored without the player's name, IP address, or Steam or other game-account identifier in the object content or storage key. ChrononLabs may separately retain a limited account-linked detection, infraction, ban, and appeal record for enforcement, authorized historical review, security, disputes, and legal compliance.

Where a server operator enables ChrononLabs-hosted ban appeals, an ordinary appeal must be submitted within 12 months of the ban's creation. An appeal opened before the deadline may continue until it is decided. After the deadline, the ordinary appeal route closes and the ban remains effective until its stated expiry unless an authorized administrator revokes, corrects, or otherwise changes it.

If you operate a protected game server, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to operate the server, enable the integration, and relay player data to us under these Terms. ChrononLabs determines the lawful bases and retention practices for processing performed on its infrastructure. You must publish a complete, persistent player notice on a reasonably accessible server listing, website, rules page, or similar surface where available. You must also display a short notice prominently when the player joins and, where technically possible, before detailed gameplay and input telemetry is transmitted for off-server analysis. The notice must tell players that they should not connect, or should disconnect immediately, if they do not agree to the described processing.

The notice must accurately explain:

  • That the customer game server relays player data to ChrononLabs for off-server storage and analysis.
  • The categories of identifiers, IP or connection data, gameplay events, input telemetry, and derived risk or detection information processed.
  • The purposes of cheat detection, investigation, replay or evidence generation, security, enforcement, player appeals where enabled, long-term historical infraction review by authorized server operators, and service improvement.
  • Whether automated cheat analysis, automated bans, server-network enforcement, or opt-in global ban sharing are enabled.
  • The ChrononLabs retention practices supplied in the generated notice, including retention of linked evidence and infraction history for enabled appeals and long-term authorized operator review; relevant recipients or recipient categories; operator contact details; player rights; and the available review or appeal route.
  • The identity and contact details of ChrononLabs where it acts as a controller, where the operator enables the global ban network, or where applicable law requires the external provider to be named.

You must not describe identifiable or linkable telemetry as anonymous. If applicable law requires consent, parental authorization, an opt-out, human review, a data-protection assessment, or another safeguard, you must complete it before enabling the affected processing. You must keep reasonable records of the notice and its effective date and must disable the service if you cannot meet these obligations.

You may adapt our player data notice template, but you remain responsible for making it accurate for your server, settings, players, and jurisdiction.

If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), with arbitration conducted remotely or in a mutually agreed location.
